Because we want to do a lot of things at the same time, we will feel anxious, and then there will be uncomfortable feelings in the body. People naturally want to avoid and suffer, and want to divert attention. Many people use smoking, drinking, and even taking drugs to circumvent the troubles that they can’t face temporarily. This is a mechanism and a human nature. The more anxious, the more difficult it is to face reality. Fortunately, not long after, this graduate student suddenly remembered the one I mentioned during class. He took the opportunity to open the computer, set up 5 folders on the desktop, put two reports related information in each folder, and then open only one folder every day, concentrate on writing the report inside. Very wonderful, when I opened only one folder at a time and found that only two reports were to be done, I felt that it was not so irritating, and I was more attentive when writing the report. The result was written and written, and 10 reports were written in 5 days, and one more day can come to class! When he walked into the classroom that day, he couldn’t wait to share with me the real experience of practicing one thing a week. Doing only one thing at a time seems to be inefficient, but it will make people focus. When there is a lot of work to do, many people may have done one thing before they have done it, and they have been worried about it: What should I do? How to do? What can I do if I can’t finish so many things? Time and thoughts are spent on worry, and nothing is done in the end. You can try to pick one of them and concentrate on doing it, as if there is only one thing left in the world, and the other is not for the time being; after this is done, do another. For example, it is morning, there is a meeting, but there is a briefing in the afternoon. I may have anxious in the past, while I am thinking about the afternoon briefing, but using righteous thoughts, I will let go of the afternoon and concentrate on my eyes. Meeting content. In my heart, the current meeting is the most important and the only thing. After the meeting, I immediately put in the preparations for the afternoon briefing, no longer worried about the good meeting of the previous meeting, and devoted myself to the preparation of the briefing. These four principles are really good, because many of the problems stem from the feelings of resistance. Once you remove the resistance, things will actually solve most of them. Go back to the example of the TSMC supervisor. When there is an emergency, he is emotionally willing to accept, and then he has to stop and take the time to reorder the priorities. Rescheduling itself is one thing he has to do right now. He only has to concentrate on scheduling. This is the righteous mindfulness. In fact, rescheduling does not take too much time, perhaps 5 minutes to figure out the clue, this is full of awareness, awareness of 5 minutes. After the rescheduling is done, immediately proceed to do the next thing on the schedule, and so on, it is still one thing. Use your short-lived moments to stabilize your heart. Now that you know how to do it, you should find out in practice that sometimes the difficulty of execution comes from emotions. At that juncture, the rising mood is often the time killer. Emotions are not easy to be smoothed, what should I do? The traditional method of meditation will ask you to sit for half an hour, but it may be difficult to make time and space when you go to work, and you have been nailed with variables. It is recommended that you use the toilet or pour tea for a while to calm yourself down. It only takes a few minutes. You go to the glass of water, feel the weight of the cup, then slowly sip a bite, slowly feel the water temperature in your mouth with your lips, then swallow it, then feel your body, feel the inner irritability, then deep Suck it and you can go back to your seat and continue working. Don’t underestimate these movements or short moments, drink water, feel the water temperature, feel the body, feel the emotions, this is still only one thing at a time. Body awareness can be repeated several times until your heart is slowly stabilized. Live in the moment, one thing at a time. Taking a breath, now, is a new beginning.
